Electronic music veterans Daft Punk have secured their first UK number one with their comeback single Get Lucky.

Their first track in eight years knocked Rudimental's Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre off the top spot. The French duo's previous best charting was 2000's One More Time at number two.

Emeli Sande scored a chart record with her debut album Our Version of Events, which hit its 63rd consecutive week in the top 10, beating a record held for nearly 50 years by The Beatles. Please Please Me previously held the record for debut album spending the most consecutive weeks in the top 10 when it featured for 62 weeks in 1963 and 1964.

"It feels quite surreal to even have your name mentioned in the same sentence as The Beatles," said the 26-year-old Scottish singer who took the fifth spot in the UK official album chart.

"For a record to stay there for so long it means that people have connected with it so that's how I'm enjoying celebrating this record." Elsewhere in the album chart, Michael Buble held off competition from Frank Turner and to stay top with To Be Loved.

In the singles chart, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis continued their success with Can't Hold Us, jumping seven places to number five. The rapper and producer have already achieved the biggest-selling single of 2013 to date with Thrift Shop.'s collaboration with Justin Bieber, ThatPower, fell one place to number three while Calvin Harris' I Need Your Love featuring Ellie Goulding climbed three places to number four.

Just one new entry featured in the top ten. What A Night by Britain's Got Talent's 2012 finalists Loveable Rogues debuted at number nine. The acoustic hip-hop trio from London are currently supporting Olly Murs on his UK tour.

Liam Gallagher is out to prove he can sing without reverb on Beady Eye's next album.

The former Oasis frontman is tired of hearing people say his vocals sound horrible without the added effect.

The temperamental star is convinced critics will change their tune when they hear the band's next album, BE.

'I'm sick of f**king idiots saying I can't sing, you know what I mean?' told UK newspaper The Sun. 'So I thought f**k this, no effects, none of that double tracking as much.

'Let's get in there bare, this is how I sound, man. This is how my voice sounds so hopefully people will like it and get off my f**king back.'

Liam formed Beady Eye following his departure from Oasis after a fiery feud with his brother and bandmate Noel, who has since focused on his own material.

The men are known to hit out at each other in the press.

Noel has made disparaging remarks about Beady Eye's success in public, with Liam unsure why he feels able to point the finger.

'I tell you f**king what, we've all got a lot of graft to do, d'you know what I mean? Him too,' Liam fumed to Q magazine last December

'He's sold a f**king few records, why wouldn't he sell records, he was the main songwriter of Oasis but he certainly hasn't f**king lit up the world.'

Courteeners hit song 'Not Nineteen Forever' was last night named Manchester United's official song to celebrate their 20th league victory title, after last night's Old Trafford win.

Trending on Twitter, along with #Liam Fray and #Courteeners, and already back in the iTunes Top 100, 'Not Nineteen Forever' is still a strong favourite for Courteeners fans and is one of the band's standout live tracks. As big Manchester United fans, Courteeners frontman Liam Fray and the rest of the band will be donating money to the Manchester United Foundation, which supports great causes in Manchester.

Courteeners recently announced two headline outdoor shows in association with Fosters Good Call in Manchester at Castlefield Bowl on 5th and 6th July, for which all 16,000 tickets sold out straight away. They are the fastest selling Courteeners shows ever.

The shows will follow the bands recent and biggest ever tour of UK and Ireland with 20 sold out shows including a packed out show at London's Brixton Academy. Each show will host a capacity of 8000 fans per night and supports across both dates include Miles Kane, Reverend & the Makers, James Skelly & The Intenders, The Strypes, The Heartbreaks and Findlay.

'To spend two nights with our fans under the stars of Manchester will be very special indeed. It'll be great to finally be bringing ANNA home. With some amazing supports, people are in for a treat... July can't come quick enough. Let's pray it doesn't rain,' Liam Fray said.

Courteeners will release their new single 'Van Der Graaff' on 6th May, the follow-up to 'Lose Control' which was the first single from their top 10 album 'ANNA', and is an epic anthemic track with an addictive guitar riff and soaring vocals. It is sure to be a huge festival track this summer.

'ANNA' followed a two year break since Courteeners last album 'Falcon', which charted at #6 and was the follow-up to the bands #4 debut album 'St. Jude'. The band recorded and produced 'ANNA' in Manchester at 80 Hertz Studios with producer Joe Cross (Hurts) and in December, performed new tracks from the album at a sold out homecoming show at the 17,000 capacity Manchester Arena. Courteeners also performed as part of XFM's Winter Wonderland at O2 Academy Brixton on 17th December and are currently on a European tour.

Muse will release their new single 'Panic Station' on June 3rd on Helium 3 / Warner Brothers Records. The single is the fourth track to be taken from the band's platinum selling sixth studio album 'The 2nd Law' and sees the band take to the streets of Tokyo in the awesome accompanying video. The single also features a remix by French producer Madeon.

Having opened the BRITs this year with an incredible performance of their previous single 'Supremacy', the band also recently played an intimate show in aid of War Child at London's iconic Shepherds Bush Empire to celebrate 20 years of the charity. The performance received outstanding reviews from both critics and fans alike.

The band are currently nearing the end of their US tour and, having just played two nights at Madison Square Gardens in NYC, will embark on their biggest stadium tour to date this May, with very special guest Dizzee Rascal appearing at all UK shows. Bastille will also join the band in Coventry on May 22nd, London on May 25th and Manchester on June 1st.
