Vinyl collectors have had a field day recently with limited-edition Radiohead remix 7-inches, but fans still enamoured with plain old CDs will finally be able to get a hold of those songs as well. A two-disc compilation called TKOL RMX collects 19 tracks, most of which are reworked versions of songs from this year’s The King Of Limbs.

Yorke said recently the band decided to release a remix album because they wanted to continue experimenting with original tracks.

Thom Yorke explains: “The remix 12′ s came out of us wanting to experiment with the tunes further.”

The Radiohead frontman continues: “I was really curious to see how the people I was listening to so much would use what we gave them. I didn’t just want floor fillers and all that shit, I just wanted to see how the songs could really branch out and mutate. I love that there is such a culture of remixing at the moment, all this flow of ideas. It may come outta the club scene but to me there is a lot more to it than that. I think it appeals to us as a band at the moment that ideas and versions are not so fixed and set in stone, it feels kind of healthy for music.

'TKOL RMX 1234567' also features remixes from the likes of SBTRKT, Modeselektor and Nathan Fake.

The band, who are currently in New York for two live shows, will celebrate the album's release at London's Corsica Studios next Tuesday (October 11). For anyone unfamiliar with the Boiler Room, it's a watch-from-your-computer club music event that's taken the net by storm over the last nine months or so. Tickets are invite only but the whole event will be available to be live streamed online from the Boilerroom.tv website.

Front man Thom Yorke will be DJing, as will Jamie XX, Caribou, Lone and Illum Sphere, all of whom have contributed remixes to 'TKOL RMX 1234567'.
