According to NME, ex-Blur front man Damon Albarn confirmed that the band “have been meeting up regularly and recording again.”

With the reunion of The Stone Roses back in October we could be in for another treat with the reformation of Britpop legends, Blur. Back in February 2011, Coxon told the NME that while "Every now and then we like to meet up and record a few things".

Blur have never been afraid of reinventing themselves. From the shoegaze influences of their debut album Leisure in 1991 right up to the 2003 album Think Tank, which was comparatively different and drew on a range of styles including jazz and hip-hop. The band are currently being covered by the Guardian to find the fans favourite Blur album.

In an interview earlier this week, the Gorillaz mastermind revealed that the band recorded a spoken word piece with poet Michael Horovitz earlier this year, in response to the very brief threat of cancelation of this year's Notting Hill Carnival. Albarn is doubtful about whether or not the track will ever see the light of day, commenting:

"If they'd have cancelled the carnival – and thank God they didn't – maybe we'd have put it out. It had its moment: it was a perfect plea to reinstate the carnival. So it wasn't relevant – it was relevant for about 12 hours."

Albarn added that he still gets an "amazing feeling" from playing with Blur and hinted at plans to play live with the band next year outside the UK. But he also explained that he's still working out how to fit Blur in with his other projects.
